Lady Gaga has announced Harlequin, a companion album to the upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux. The album is set for release this Friday, September 27th — one week before the movie will open in theaters worldwide on October 4th.
In the Todd Phillips-directed Joker: Folie à Deux, Gaga plays Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck / the Joker. The film has been described as a jukebox musical, featuring covers of jazz standards like “Get Happy,” “That’s Life,” “Oh, When the Saints,” and Frank Sinatra’s “I’ve Got the World On a String.” All of these songs are included on Gaga’s Harlequin, as are several originals.
