Justin Bieber to Make a Return to the VMA’s 2021

According to ABC News, the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will be the return of “Bieber fever”.

The singer is expected to perform live at the event on Sunday night, 8 p.m. (EDT). The show will take place in person at the Barclays Center in New York after having a virtual show the previous year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bieber has seven nominations at this year’s event, including video of the year for “POPSTAR” and artist of the year. His last appearance at the ceremony took place in 2015 where he performed “What Do You Mean?”.

Other live performers include Camila Cabello, Lil Nas X, Chloe, Kacey Musgraves, Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodrigo, Machine Gun Kelly and Doja Cat-who is also hosting the show.

Presenters include Conor McGregor, Billy Porter, 50 Cent, Fat Joe, Megan Fox, Ashanti, Rita Ora, Simone Biles and Travis Barker.

Megan Thee Stallion has six nominations. BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X, and Olivia Rodrigo each have five nominations.

Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Rodrigo and Taylor Swift are each nominated for artist of the year.

The Foo Fighters are set to perform and receive the Global Icon Award, a new prestigious award that will be given out annually at the event going forward. The award honors an artist or band “whose unparalleled career and continued impact and influence has maintained a unique level of global success in music and beyond.”
