Justin Bieber has been creating music his entire life. He is one of the first artists that was discovered on YouTube and turned into a star. There were many after him, but Bieber and his musicianship and performance were one of the first to really stand out. He was discovered when he was a young teenager and ended up having Usher being his mentor. Who better than Usher to help develop the future of pop icons? Now Bieber has seemingly accomplished it all. He has had awards and number one albums, and performed live in front of millions of fans. It seems that he’s not rushing to create a bunch of albums; he’s really taking his time and making good music-song by song.
Bieber’s New Years Day 2021 concert took place at the T-Mobile arena, a few fans were allowed inside the building but had to wear face masks and abide by social distancing. Everyone else was watching it lived streamed on the internet or other service. He performed all of his hits, which I’m sure was great for all of his fans. Bieber is a traditional pop star in the sense that he performs through singing and dance; he also plays guitar and is a good songwriter. Here are some of the songs he plays during his set:
Boyfriend: is about the guy laying out all the reasons why the girl should be interested in him. It is a radio-friendly pop song with a nice sounding production. It also has unique chorography and is a fan favorite.
Baby: is also another song that is meant to impress the ladies. The song features Ludacris who was not present at the concert but his lyrics were still performed. It is amazing that Bieber can still sing this song, this is one of his first hits when he was like 15, and to see him sing it now, pitch perfectly was definitely a sight to see.
I’m the One: is a DJ Khaled song that Bieber is featured on. It is a hip-hop song that did pretty well on the music charts. The song is about revealing who you truly are.
No Brainer: is another hip-hop track by DJ Khaled that features Bieber. The song is about two guys chasing the same girl, and she having to pick who she likes best. It’s a catchy song that is a follow-up to “I’m the One”.
Love Yourself: is a slow pop song that emphasizes the lyrics. The song is about people needing to love themselves before they can love anyone else. When this song released it quickly became one of the most popular on radio and music streaming services,
All That Matters: is another slow pop song about how to fix relationships when one partner begins to feel like they want out. There is a lot of emphasis on lyrics in this song.
Where are You Now: is a song by producers Skrillex and Diplo that features Justin Bieber. It is a pop song with a futuristic sound. The song is about getting to a new place in life and the people that used to support you are no longer around. This song was another hit to add to Bieber’s collection.
What Do You Mean? is about receiving mixed signals from someone. The song is pop with a mixture of electronic dance. This song was also a hit for Bieber.
