JT & Yung Miami Open Up Separately About City Girls Breakup

JT and Yung Miami have both moved on from their time as a duo in the City Girls. But they’ve been relatively quiet in public about the end of the group — until now.

In recent separate interviews, both women opened up about the group’s demise. When speaking to Complex, JT said that she thought the decision for her and Yung Miami to pursue solo careers — which she described as mutual — “made sense for both of us” and that there were “no hard feelings” over the split.

“I’m like Tina Turner, I’m still a City Girl. I need my name. That’s the biggest thing about me, I can’t ever get away from being a City Girl,” she said.

“But I feel like it just made so much sense for both of us in the direction that we was going and things that we were focusing on.”

Yung Miami addressed the breakup on the latest episode of her show Caresha Please, where she was interviewed by Saucy Santana.

“We outgrew each other,” she said. “She was in L.A., I was in Miami. Every time we tried to get together, it just didn’t hit.

“We was in two different head spaces,” she continued. “The way we dressed was different. Whenever we tried to get together, it just didn’t connect.”

Yung Miami revealed that even when on the road together, the duo stayed separate.

“When we’d be on tour, she got her own dressing room, I got my own dressing room,” she said. “[JT’s] riding with her own glam team, I’m riding with my own glam team. When we get on the stage and do our routine, that was probably the only interaction we had.”

In addition to speaking about the City Girls split, the latest Caresha Please episode finds Yung Miami opening up about her past relationship with Diddy following the disturbing allegations against the Bad Boy boss.

The former City Girls rapper said that Puffy was not physically violent with her during their roughly two-year open relationship.

“I can’t speak on something that wasn’t my experience, and I can’t speak on something that I don’t know,” she said of the sexual assault and sex trafficking accusations against Diddy, which he has repeatedly denied.

“I can’t speak on these allegations because I wasn’t around at the time. I don’t know that person and that wasn’t my experience.”
