Joni Mitchell recently wrote: “Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives.”
Mitchell has confirmed she’s removing her music from Spotify, in solidarity with Neil Young’s decision to do so this week. She posted a statement on website January 28:
: I’ve decided to remove all my music from Spotify. Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives. I stand in solidarity with Neil Young and the global scientific and medical communities on this issue.
Young requested the removal of his music earlier in the week due to Spotify’s role in “spreading fake information about vaccines” by hosting Joe Rogan’s podcast. The request was granted last Wednesday.
