Three’s a crowd.
The boyfriend of Ben Affleck‘s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, is less than thrilled the “Argo” director has time on his hands now that Jennifer Lopez is divorcing him because John Miller doesn’t want to share his leading lady.
Affleck was famously married to the “13 Going on 30” actress, both 52, from 2004 until they announced their split in 2015. They didn’t file for divorce until 2017.
Despite the breakup, Affleck and Garner have remained close for their three children: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Garner has been by Affleck’s side for everything from his alcohol recovery to his recent split from Lopez. The actor was with Garner hours before Lopez filed for divorce on Tuesday, August 20 — the anniversary of Bennifer 2.0’s second wedding ceremony, because the “Let’s Get Loud” singer reportedly wanted it to “sting.”
“John doesn’t like sharing Jen and there is a divide when it comes to her and Ben,” a source told Daily Mail on Thursday.
While Miller isn’t fearful that the exes’ connection will spark up again, the insider claimed he struggles with how much energy Garner gives Affleck.
“He wishes it wasn’t like that because he understands they are a family, but it gets to him like it would anyone,” the source continued. “John doesn’t have any fears that they are getting back together – but it has been tough coping with her support for Ben during his split from JLo.”
Miller is reportedly “looking forward to Ben and JLo’s split being done so he can start focusing on Jen” — and he’s not the only one.
“Both Jen and John are hoping for that. It is just going to take a little time. They both want to be in a better place, but some work needs to be done,” the source said, adding that despite the rumors, Miller and Garner “haven’t split.”
Unlike Bennifer, their inner circle allegedly believes they’re end game.
“Friends feel that they will be together for a long time,” the insider spilled. “They are very private.”
Miller’s patience with Garner has reportedly strengthened their relationship.
“The relationship that Ben and Jen have is different, and where that bothers John, Jen actually likes that it is different because that is what attracted her to John in the first place.”
The actress started dating the Cali Group CEO in 2018; however, they reportedly ended their relationship in March 2020 “before LA went into lockdown.” They reunited in May 2021, around the same time Affleck and Lopez rekindled their relationship almost 20 years after ending their engagement.
The stars began dating in 2002 after starring in the Blockbuster flop, “Gigli.” Affleck popped the question to Lopez and the pair set a September 2003 wedding date, only to call off their nuptials days before.
J.Lo said she felt like she “was going to die” and went into an 18-year “spiral” after they ended their relationship.
In the divorce filing, Lopez listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024, meaning they haven’t been a couple for nearly four months.
She allegedly didn’t reveal if there’s a prenuptial agreement; however, sources tell TMZ that they didn’t have one in place. Without a prenup, everything they made from their short-lived marriage could be deemed community property.
Lopez waived the right to spousal support and asked the judge to deny Affleck support.
Insiders shared the pair are “very different people” who ultimately couldn’t make their marriage last.
Lopez allegedly “tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken.”
