Jamie Lynn Spears is aggressively slamming suggestions her sister footed the bill for a $1 million Florida condo. The 30-year-old Nickelodeon alum and sister to Grammy winner Britney Spears has made headlines galore this month as the “Circus” singer slams her for being an unsupportive family member, with the latest seeing 39-year-old Britney shade her sibling on Instagram – no two ways about it.
Jamie Lynn, who claims she’s received death threats after openly backing Britney amid her 2008-commenced conservatorship battles, is now on the defensive as she takes to Instagram for her 2.2 million followers, claiming that a Florida condo she’s reportedly owned since 2000 doesn’t exist.
Claims She Doesn’t Own A Condo
On Monday evening, Jamie Lynn posted from a luxurious getaway and at The Ritz Carlton hotel. The “Sweet Magnolias” actress shared various family snaps, ones including husband Jamie Watson, 13-year-old daughter Maddie, plus 3-year-old Ivey.
The photos, which included Jamie Lynn posing in selfie mode by a drawn bath and sharing a bikini selfie featuring her husband – the two were in their hotel room – came with a massive statement, one clearly shutting down suggestions last week made by The Sun. The British newspaper had reported Britney to have paid for her $1 million condo – the Destin property is said to have been purchased through a trust Britney has owned since 2000.
Taking to her caption, JLS told fans: “I don’t own a condo, and I can assure you that no one has ever bought me a place at the beach, because I prefer my beach vacations’s at the Ritz anyway.”
“Simple FACTS. Y’all need to stop reachin’. Thankful to get this time with my family in between our busy work and practice schedules with the kids lol,” she continued.
The actress had, in 2016, referenced owning “our condo” where she said that she “hosts everyone” and said that she was “pretty blessed” with it. The Sun, meanwhile, states that no properties in the state of Florida are “listed for or belonging to Jamie Lynn.”
Edits Her Caption
Interestingly, Jamie Lynn waited only a matter of hours before quietly editing her caption, one that is now void of the denial, and ends with the “Thankful” sentence. The “Zoey 101” alum has been busy editing out captions of late – and they involve her sister.
Earlier this month and while posing in a red suit for mirror selfies, the star wrote: “May the peace of the lord be with you, and your spirit.” Quick to follow was a damning post from Britney as she told her 32.5 million Instagram followers:
“May the Lord wrap your mean a– up in joy today….”
Jamie Lynn then edited out her caption.
Backing Sister Amid Conservatorship
Jamie Lynn does not appear to have sister Britney welcoming her platitudes, this as the superstar singer writes: “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply.”
Jamie Lynn, meanwhile, had taken to social media to support Britney, stating it was “extremely clear that since the day I was born that I’ve only loved adored and supported my sister.”
Britney, meanwhile, made global headlines on June 23 for addressing a Los Angeles court judge and saying she felt “traumatized” by her conservatorship, one seeing 69-year-old father Jamie Spears control her finances and many other aspects of her life. Britney claims she’s been forced to keep in an IUD and perform against her will. Likewise, that she’s unable to marry boyfriend Sam Asghari, despite wanting to wed the personal trainer.
