Hurt By Paradise: New British Arthouse Film Coming Soon to Your Living Room

The British indie film about a poet is coming April 6 on digital and VOD

The new British indie arthouse film, Hurt By Paradise (Rating NR, TV-14 Runtime:83 minutes) is a heartfelt love letter about female friendship and London from first-time writer/director Greta Bellamacina (San Francisco Love Story) who also takes the lead in the film as Celeste, a young poet, and single mother, trying to make her way in London. It captures the essence and the trials and tribulations of exploring hardships but always with a sense of humor! Think Woody Allen meets Francis Ha!

The film was written and directed by Greta Ballamacina, Sadie Brown, and Robert Montgomery. The film also stars Nicholas Rowe (The Crown, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels) Anna Brewster (Versailles, Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens) Sai Bennett (The Spanish Princess, Mr. Selfridge) Jaime Winstone (Tomb Raider, Love, Rosie)  Tanya Burr (Twist, Bullet Proof)

Greta’s poetry is woven throughout the film. It’s a heartwarming tragic comedy with a twist that may very well be the 2021 must-see movie for all.

Celeste unsuccessfully tries to get her book published and along the way, her best friend, babysitter Stella (Sadie Brown) —a middle-aged failed actress captivated by an online love affair by her side. The question is, will they both succeed or fail in their attempts for living their lives to the fullest?

The film was nominated for the prestigious Michael Powell Award for Best British Film at Edinburgh Film Festival and for Best UK Film at Raindance. It arrives on digital and VOD April 6 courtesy of Trinity Creative Partnership.
