“Human Urban Tracks” – Art Review

“Human Urban Tracks” is a painting by Alain Bellone (of France). Bellone’s favorite art comes from the 1980s, a decade where much of the inspiration comes from. The 80s specifically focused on areas of interest like global capitalism and the expansion of mass media. 80s fashion and music are also inspirations particularly electronic pop music and hip-hop. Many of the artist’s works can be described as coming from the Neo-Expressionism perspective that became so popular during the time period.

“Human Urban Tracks” is a symmetrical painting that uses various colors to highlight the silhouette of three individuals walking, most likely in an urban area with busy streets. The blue, black and orange color scheme compliments the artist’s ability to put emphasis on each figure while making them the same in terms of its composition. The colors are vibrant and appear to pop off of the canvas upon observation. The painting symbolizes equality, togetherness and peace.

The painting was entered in the Urban Legends Show 2009 in the United States.
