Hulu has released the trailer for its upcoming comedy series How to Die Alone, set to hit the streamer on September 13, 2024. It is created by Insecure alum Natasha Rothwell, who also starred in the series as an airport employee who decides to start living her life after a near-death experience.
How to Die Alone is slated to make its debut with the first four episodes starting on Friday, September 13. Rothwell is joined by Conrad Ricamora (How to Get Away with Murder) as Rory, KeiLyn Durrel Jones (Sparring Partner) as Terrance, Jocko Sims (The Last Ship) as Alex, and Bashir Salahuddin (Top Gun: Maverick) as Brian.
What is How to Die Alone about?
The comedy series centers on Rothwell’s Mel, a woman without romantic experience whose life is devoid of goals and aspirations. She works in an airport, though — ironically — she’s afraid to fly. In the trailer, Mel describes herself as “broke” and that her family thinks she’s a “lost cause.” One day, after an accident, she makes the decision to change her life’s trajectory and start living her life to the fullest, no matter what it takes.
“I am tired of listening to everyone else but myself,” said Rothwell’s Mel, as she begins to start her new life.
The synopsis for the upcoming series reads: “The series follows Melissa (Rothwell), a Black neurotic who’s never been in love. After a comical brush with death, she refuses to settle for anything less than the life she wants, catapulting her on a journey to becoming ‘100% that bitch’ in real life by any means necessary.”
