Hoda Kotb announced her plans to leave the Today show on Thursday, September 26, leaving millions of loyal viewers in shock. According to an NBC insider, however, the coanchor’s exit didn’t come as a huge surprise to those behind the scenes. “It’s such a hard job on your life,” the insider exclusively tells Us Weekly. “I think the average person understands that morning TV is not glamorous. … She wants to focus on her kids.” While the source adds that Kotb’s decision is “wonderful for her,” it will also be “a huge blow” to lose such a beloved figure at the morning show.
