Joe Locke and Kit Connor are taking their onscreen relationship to the next level.
The Heartstopper stars recently opened up about filming their first sex scenes for the Netflix teen show’s upcoming Season 3, which debuts Oct. 3 on the streamer, as Locke noted that fans are “way hornier” for the big moment than they think.
“We did a lot of work with David Thackeray, our intimacy co-ordinator who’s been on it since season one, so we know him well and we’re very comfortable with him and he’s very good at his job,” Connor told PinkNews.
“He was instrumental in helping us feel super comfortable and also look and feel realistic on screen, that was important. It’s like a dance. We blocked it out and we shot for about seven hours, the sex scenes,” he explained. “It would be like, ‘OK, spoon now,’ and ‘kiss’ and ‘our hand under the cover’… It was very much like that, intense.”
Connor said “it was a long day” on set, noting, “Most of the crew was the same for all three seasons, so you get to know people really well and you feel so comfortable around them that the embarrassment sort of goes away.”

When asked what he thinks the most anticipated Season 3 moment will be, Connor told the outlet, “Them having sex. I think the Heartstopper fans are way hornier than they think they are, and they are ready for it.”
Based on Alice Oseman‘s graphic novels of the same name, Heartstopper premiered in 2022, starring Locke and Connor as Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, two teens whose unlikely friendship blossoms into young love as they navigate school and growing up.
