Venus et Amour (Venus and Cupid)

Venus et Amour (Venus and Cupid) is a detached fresco from 1918. The artist painted it on the walls of his honeymoon suite and it appeared in Warhol’s Factory in the 1970s. The image is framed by symmetrical design that looks like an exuberant picture frame that captures the expression and juxtaposition of the two central figures.

La main gauche de Picasso (The left hand of Picasso)

La main gauche de Picasso (The left hand of Picasso) is the artist’s left hand in plaster. The right hand in plaster is currently in the Musée Picasso. This sculpture has been in a private collection for about 50 years. Picasso physically designed his imprint within this creation. It is always intriguing when artists take a part of their existence and expresses it through their art work. The sculpture has intricate lines and shape that reflects the expression of humanity.

Wifredo Lam – Composition by Wilfredo Lam

Wifredo Lam – Composition by Wifredo Lam is an early representation of the Femme Cheval in the artist’s oeuvre from 1947. The perspective captures its subject in the abstract using shape, line and color variations throughout the captivating image.

Vertical Pistol Structure by David Smith

Vertical Pistol Structure by David Smith is a steel work from 1952. It weighs 41 pounds, has a height of 46” and a width of 15 ½”. The mechanical nature of the art intrigues the observer with its depiction of varied shape and form.

Untitled by Joan Miró

Untitled by Joan Miró is a unique illustration from 1930 crafted by pencil on Ingres paper. The artist created many art works in this tradition of using abstract images to captivate observers and highlight expressions through precise detail and color.
