Film Review: “The Croods 2: A New Age”

The sequel to The Croods is hilarious and Nicolas Cage's voice work is impressive

The Croods 2: A New Age” (Dreamworks) is fun to watch. Nicolas Cage’s voice work as the father figure Grug in this animated film is very impressive. Spoiler alert: My favorite scene is when Phil and Grug argue in the ‘sauna’ and well… they’re supposedly naked but let’s just leave it at that! Nic’s baritone voice is intoxicating and really turns me on—Nic turns me on even more! He’s quite the comedian! I’m a Cage superfan so of course, I would say that!

My Thoughts on The Croods vs. The Croods 2: A New Age

I also saw the first Croods and it was amazing. The sequel was hilarious from start to finish! Was it better than the first? I wouldn’t say better I would say it was equally comical and very entertaining! They were both amazing!

The animated film stars Emma Stone as Eep, Nicolas Cage as Grug, Ryan Reynolds as Guy, Catherine Keener as Ugga, Leslie Mann as Hope Betterman, Cloris Leachman as Gran, Peter Dinklage as Phil Betterman, Clark Duke as Thunk, and Kelly Marie Tran as Dawn Betterman.

As the storyline goes, The Croods are looking for a new place to call home when they run into The Betterman family. Grug is the overprotective father who vows that his family sticks together and the madness and barrel of laughs kick off from there! It just arrived on VOD on December 18 last Friday. If you get a chance watch it! It’s fun for the entire family and it will put a smile on your face despite the terrible year 2020 was. Good riddance 2020!

Remember the song from the 70s TV show “The Partridge Family” entitled, “I Think I Love You?” Surprise! That’s featured in the film by the late David Cassidy.

The film received a 75 percent rating from Rotten Tomatoes. It’s definitely worth it!
