Attitude is a compelling new EP from Washington, DC-based artist Jeff Draco, who describes the release as “about that deep longing for something more—whether in your relationships, your career, or just the way you experience life.” A jangly, hook-abundant rock sound with synth adornments complement Draco’s melodic vocal presence throughout.
“Past Loves” opens with a magnetic immersion, melding starry-eyed synths and jangly guitars with atmospheric appeal. “I don’t wanna fall too hard for you,” the introductory vocals declare, traversing seamlessly into blaring guitar momentum approaching the final minute. The track is a hook-filled kickoff to a fantastic EP. “Attitude (I Want More)” continues the entrancement, melding nocturnal synth atmospherics with a lyrical drive that reflects on how lingering issues can cause cracks in relationships; the melodic guitar work and soaring vocal tones remind enjoyably of Wild Nothing.
Attitude immerses with quality songwriting beyond these two opening standouts, from the folk/synth intertwining of “Daisy” to the jangling momentum of finale “Don’t Fly.” The EP is a consistently engaging replay-inducing success from Jeff Draco, who elaborates further on the EP below:
“It’s about navigating the complexities and turbulence of life when all you want is to feel carefree and have fun again. The EP is a journey through learning and growth, capturing the nostalgia of youth while grappling with the realities of adulthood. I wanted the project to evoke the feeling of a perfect summer day, or that moment right before the sun sets, when everything feels possible. Ultimately, it’s about embracing where you’ve been while focusing on where you’re going.”
