Fans Expose SM Entertainment’s Lack Of Promotion For Artists

Fans of SM idols have voiced their opinions regarding SM Entertainment’s lack of promotions for their artists. While this has been known among long-time SM idol fans, they feel it has gone too far compared to other SM idols whose content are released quickly.

With Red Velvet Wendy’s return to Youngstreet radio, fans were disappointed as they felt that SM was announcing that they wouldn’t be posting about it anymore.

A first broadcast photo to celebrate Wendy’s return to Youngstreet! You can check out photos of Wendy on the official Youngstreet account from now on!

They felt that SM telling fans to check photos on a different account was a declaration that they would not be posting anymore about Red Velvet.

  • “Is it that hard to post one thing on social media? Why are they getting paid then.”
  • “Seriously, they don’t even do something as easy as reposting. You can’t help compare them to other idol groups.”
  • “What? Is it that hard to post something?”
  • “Huh? I’ve never seen an official account write something like that.”
  • “So ridiculous. SM is already known for not posting a lot, but announcing that they aren’t going to post anymore is even more ridiculous.”
  • “Wow I guess they don’t care about their older idols anymore.”
  • “It’s not about how old the idols are. They’ve always been like that and it’s a problem with their staff, they always forget something and make mistakes.

Meanwhile, NCT 127 fans have also voiced their frustration at NEO CENTER for their lack of posts and content.

“The reasons why NEO CENTER is the worst:

  1. The behind-the-scene recording video still hasn’t been uploaded for the past 37+a days. (a unit from the same group made a comeback in the same month but released the recording video after 16 days)
  2. Fixed group content is released once a month. A video filmed on 3/26 was finally uploaded on 8/10 (It took 137 days)
2-1. The “Muk2U” content originally posted on the NCT channel started being posted on the NCT 127 channel because they had nothing prepared.
  3. There are still tons of behind-the-scenes footage from group and individual activities that have yet to be uploaded. (from this month alone, they have done ‘Gayo Daejeon’, ‘The Seasons’, ‘UTO-FEST’, ‘Eighth debut anniversary fan meeting’, and more)

Stop hiding behind the excuse that there is a lack of staff. Your job is to work hand-in-hand with the artists, not drag them around.”

Fans couldn’t hide their anger as they felt they were always late with NCT 127 content.

I’m just mad that all this always happens to only NCT 127.

Doyoung’s solo concert, Mark solo, Dojaejung, Mark, Yuta’s fashion week, team track video and recording, member’s individual advertisement behind video, magazine cover behind, etc. There are so many things that have yet to be released. At this point, makes me wonder if they even filmed any behind-the-scenes at all. Other teams drop the recording right away, but NEO CENTER is always late for everything.

I was seriously the most angry when I saw ‘Muk2U’ being posted on the 127 channel.

They did all this media play for their summer comeback but ended up scheduling it during the Olympics. They only had a week of comeback and didn’t do anything for physical sales or streaming. Only after the fans worked hard to give them their first win did they come on social media and congratulate them for their win.

Fans are continuing to post hashtags to bring more awareness to the company. What are your thoughts on this?
