Europe Skeptical of American Cloud Computing

According to Beta News, the conclusion of a recent study indicates that 82% of European internet users are skeptical about using cloud computing and cloud storage provided by American tech companies.

4,500 people across many countries were surveyed and they pinpoint the reasons why they are unwilling to use American cloud resources: the concern of tech companies using their cloud information for commercial reasons, and the possibility of cyber attacks. The participants also indicated that they would prefer to put their data on servers within Europe rather than any other location.

However, due to the expansion of cloud computing in Silicon Valley-particularly during a global pandemic- it is important for internet users in all territories to find a cloud solution that will protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information. The survey was conducted by pCloud a company that uses information systems to allow communication between two or more territories.

Tunio Zafer, the CEO of the company said, “With families, friends and businesses forced apart by coronavirus, we have seen a huge uptake in cloud services to connect people at this most challenging of times. This study found that 71% of people will use cloud storage and file sharing solutions more in the post-COVID world. However, it is clear that Europe demands better than what ‘big tech’ is offering, having been burned one too many times. ”The survey participants want more European server space for their personal and professional use of cloud computing.

“While we are seeing significant growth in the cloud market, people are becoming savvier as a result,” asserted Zafer. “Whether it’s for business or personal use, the industry as a whole must do more to address security issues, which are clearly having an impact on users who feel increasingly emboldened to challenge providers.

“Even though these internet users have the right to criticize American cloud infrastructure, they should also keep in mind that the U.S. has offered cloud computing for an international userbase for several years and have a strong reputation regarding privacy and security. According to ZDNet, the following list is of the major cloud computing providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Alibaba Cloud, IBM, Dell Technologies/VMware, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Cisco Systems, Salesforce, Oracle, SAP, Workday, and Adobe.

These providers have something in common; they each generate billions annually by manufacturing and distributing computer hardware and software, and manage a cloud services solution in addition to other services. Many of these cloud service providers are large technology companies that have the resources to invest in new innovative technologies.

Over the last decade, cloud services have become a popular innovation for research and development. In 2020, cloud services are considered an important technical solution for governments, as well as public and private companies. The three leaders in the field are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.

AWS is a leader in the field because it is the first cloud offering company to operate as an infrastructure as a service (IaaS). AWS is the most innovative of the leading companies as it continues to engineer ways for cloud computing to interact with artificial intelligence (AI), databases, machine learning and serverless deployments.

Microsoft Azure is a leader in the field because it is the best software as a service (SaaS) solution, and it is in a race with AWS in discovering the best ways to implement AI and machine learning with cloud services. Google Cloud Platform is a leader because it is used more frequently by businesses than any other company on the list. While cloud computing remains to be an area of research and development, there are many cloud computing options available to internet users in Europe and in all other parts of the world.
