Dustin Diamond Hospitalized in Florida

Dustin Diamond

According to many sources, Dustin Diamond has been hospitalized due to cancer and body pain. This news comes as a shock for many fans that are hoping that Diamond will make a return for season 2 of the Saved By the Bell reboot on the Peacock streaming service. While fans are hoping for his return, it is important to assert that Diamond’s health is the more important issue at this time.

It has been published that he has a family history of cancer, his mother died of breast cancer and he has other family members who have passed away due to other forms of cancer. Diamond describes his condition as feeling pain all over his body. He is currently hospitalized where healthcare professionals are trying to reduce his pain and figure out what type of cancer he has.

Diamond is a television actor and standup comedian known for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on every iteration of the teen sitcom Saved By the Bell. He played the role of Screech for 11 years. He started off playing Screech as a middle school student on Disney’s Good Morning Miss Bliss. However, Disney decided to cancel the show in 1989 and NBC bought the rights to it in order to take the production to a new level.

The characters Zach, Lisa and Screech all appeared on Disney’s program and were invited to play high school students in NBC’s version of the show, Saved by the Bell. As Screech, Diamond played the part for a year as a middle school student, four years as a high school student, one year as a college student, and six seasons as Principal Belding’s assistant for seven consecutive years on Saved by the Bell: The New Class, which aired until the year 2000.

There have been several recent interviews with the cast members who were invited to join the reboot, many journalists want to know what happened to Screech and will he be making appearances on the show. Even though Diamond’s character was not in the first season, the characters mention him and where he is in life at the moment. In order to figure out those details for yourself, subscribe to the Peacock streaming service where you can watch all of the episodes of season 1.

Elizabeth Berkley, who plays Dr. Jessica Spano in the reboot, was asked about Diamond potentially joining her shows and she replied with positivity, she essentially confirmed that he would make appearances if the contract and show were something that he wanted to be a part of again. Lark Voorhies was also asked about Diamond possibly returning and she essentially said that it is about money and working out the right contract, and she was positive that Diamond would be making a return.

Even though Diamond has shown interest in the past of joining a potential reboot, it looks like those aspirations will be put on hold. Diamond is going to have to take care of himself first before being able to make a return to the television screen. It would be magnificent if he could beat this cancer diagnosis and return to the show where he belongs, contrary to popular belief many members of the cast would like to see him return.
