Depeche Mode have announced their new album, Memento Mori, and a tour across North America and Europe. The album is the follow-up to their 2017 LP, Spirit, and has a release date of next spring. The North American tour dates start in Sacramento in March 2023 and will end in Madison Square Garden on April 14. The concerts in Europe start in the Netherlands and end in Norway.

Memento Mori is their first album since the passing of founding member-Andy “Fletch” Fletcher. While the band continues to mourn the loss, they are turning the difficult energy into something positive by remembering to keep the music alive. Martin Gore said of the album in a Pitch interview: “We started work on this project early in the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by that time. After Fletch’s passing, we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted, and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.”

Dave Gahan said, “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon, and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year.”
