Spanish Cel del Nord Art Residency is open to creative people of all disciplines. In the aspiring environment, beautiful nature and village restored old house art organization Cel del Nord, with a sense of great escape offers a great place to create in peace and quiet. Artwork based on nature can take many forms and serve many purposes, because “nature” is such an immense topic that can encompass many things. There are various subtopics that may appear in nature-related artwork. “Nature, in the broadest sense, is equivalent to the natural world, the physical universe, material world, or material universe. “Nature” refers to the phenomena of the physical world, and also to life in general.”
Cel del Nord Art Residency is seeking artists for residency of either one week or two weeks duration in 2022. Applicants can apply for one-week residency 25th of May – 1st June 2022, 15th of June – 22nd of June 2022, and two weeks residencies for 25th of May – 8th of June 2022, 1st of June – 15th of June 2022, and 8th of June – 22nd of June 2022.
It is to consider all applications to work on anything, but are at this time interested with artists who are working on:
-practical or conceptual artificial intelligence,
-ancient Roman settlements because the residency is within walking distance of a dig site or
-developing the artistic view of agriculture, food resources, and the ecological impact today
Formal art education may not be necessary how much there is an impact on an active practice in arts, while of course applicants must demonstrate a commitment to making and exhibiting their artwork. What is expected from the artist at the end is a blog post, article, or interview of a minimum of 750 words or ten images documenting processes undertaken during the residency, while at the end it doesn’t have to be produced final work. The workshop accepts drawing, painting, research, computer work, writing in the field of creating in woods or an agricultural environment. The art can be a customizing set-up for other artwork, as long it is presented in the documents at the end of the residency. There are different ways to approach the subject of nature in art. Art can open eyes to the intricacy and beauty of the natural world and can be a challenging piece expressing our complex human connection with it.
Cel del Nord Residency covers accommodation, basic meals, transport from and to Barcelona airport or train station. The deadline is the 31st of December 2021.
To apply you need to send an email to info@celdelnord.com with ‘Application 2022’ as the subject line. The application needs to have a project proposal for the period of the residency that covers everything explained, how you will do it and why maximum of 500 words. A note in the email body that describes why Cel del Nord is the choice project, maximum 250 words, and the possible residency dates in the order of your preference, starting with your first choice. Also, include the web address or social links and an artist statement. Also, attach a visual portfolio in PDF format if you have one.
