Everything new regarding the most popular boyband in the world, BTS, has gone viral lately due the group announcing that its members will be enlisted in the South Korean military and will need to pause their music careers until 2025. It has been reported that one of the last projects will be solo singles and a new album from Jin.
Due to the breaking news, Jin’s new music has been highly anticipated. This week fans got the opportunity to hear “The Astronaut” for the first time. The rock-pop song and the music video premiered on the internet Friday Oct. 28. The song was co-written by Jin and Coldplay.
Jin’s previous solo singles include ballads like “Awake” and “Epiphany.” “The Astronaut” has more of an up-beat, rock edge to the music.
Previous to “The Astronaut,” BTS collaborated with Coldplay on the song “My Universe” on the Music of the Spheres album, which reached number one on Billboard’s Hot 100.
