BTS’ ‘Butter’ is No. 1 on Billboard’s 2021 Songs of the Summer Chart

BTS’ “Butter” remained number one on Billboard’s 2021 Songs of the Summer chart for the entire season. The chart is comprised of the top 20 songs that include data on their weekly streaming, radio airplay and sales based on Billboard Hot 100 from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Other standout songs include Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U”, Dua Lipa’s “Levitating”, Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” and The Weeknd and Ariana Grande’s “Save Your Tears”.

The top 10 also included Lil Nas X’s “Montero (Call Me by Your Name), Rodrigo’s “déjà vu”, Justin Bieber’s “Peaches”, Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open” and The kid LAROI and Bieber’s “Stay”.

“Butter” was the most sold song at 1.7 million units. Rodrigo’s “Good for You” was the most streamed at 380 million. Lipa’s “Levitating” had 1.1 billion impressions on radio.

The metrics include the data surrounding the original version of “Butter”. BTS has made several versions of the song. “Butter Hotter Remix” has different choreography and has a saxophone section that is not present in the other versions. “Butter Cooler Remix” is more upbeat and features more break dancing from the group. “Butter featuring Megan the Stallion” which is more rap based. All of the different versions of the song have the same lyrics but contain a different presentation. Each of them is popular on radio, streaming and sales.
