Britney Spears has fans rallying around her and reminding her to consider the body-positive movement. The 40-year-old singer, known for her super-fit body, has been busy sharing her energetic workouts to Instagram, but with a recent piece of footage mentioning abs, fans were quick to think the Grammy winner was being critical of herself. Spears has, over the pandemic, vowed to get “into shape,” and it looks like users think she already is – and doesn’t need to bash herself any more.

In a video now viewed over 6 million times, the “Piece of Me” hitmaker joked about wearing shades for an indoor workout. The video showed her from a daylit gym as she stood on brushed-wood floors and backed by rows of treadmills while lifting small dumbbells. Spears opted for her signature and skimpy wardrobe – fans saw the “Circus” singer in tiny shorts, a sports bra, plus sneakers. Britney was seen working her toned arms while huffing and puffing a little, with the caption explaining a little more.

“It was early this morning ☀️ and my face wasn’t awake yet …. I’m the silly 🤪 girl with shades 🕶on in the gym …,” she began, adding that “if you’ve never done it before, I suggest you do … It was my first time and it actually enhances the movement with feeling versus what it looks like !!!! I mean that’s why I’m dancing too 😜😜😜🤪🤪🤪 … My abs only come out I guess when I run which I hate doing but somebody’s gotta do it !!!!!”

Fans were quick to swoop in. Toping comments with over 2,000 likes was a user telling the newly-engaged star: “I really hate that the media has made you so paranoid about your body. You’re so gorgeous and beautiful. Nothing is wrong with you, Britney. I hope you see this message and can feel the love you have from your fans.” Spears is set to marry Iranian-born personal trainer Sam Asghari.

Also tapping into body positivity was a fan writing: “Girrrlllll, we need you to hop onto the body positivity movement. Fat rolls aren’t bad or gross – they’re normal. Imperfect abs aren’t a sign of laziness – you can spend your life in the gym and still have fat on your body!” Britney has actually stated that she feels more powerful at a higher weight and that being smaller has left her feeling vulnerable. The yoga lover is known for her outdoor stretching sessions, plus power cardio sessions, often with 27-year-old Asghari.
