Bitdefender unveils New Cloud Computing Solution

Cloud computing

Bitdefender is a cybersecurity firm that provides security solutions to over 500 million users globally. The company launched a new cloud-based Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution that helps enterprises and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) secure their information, reduce the possibility of being affected by a threat, and builds protection against cyberattacks.

The new solution can be installed and launched with existing security hardware and software. It is also entirely cloud-based, which will not take up storage space on company devices. It features advanced threat detection settings for systems that are partially or entirely in the cloud. These settings help users discover vulnerabilities before they may experience a cyberattack. It also launches mitigation at the push of one button: quarantining files, blocking IP addresses and defending against threat agents that have unauthorized assess to systems and networks.

“Businesses and MSPs struggle to keep pace with an onslaught of attacks as cybercriminals work diligently to capitalize on the industry’s shift to less secure remote work environments for the foreseeable future,” asserted Gavin Hill-Vice President of Product Marketing at Bitdefender. “The new Bitdefender EDR package delivers best-in- lass attack visibility and effective response, backed by threat intelligence from Bitdefender Labs, to help organizations navigate these riskier, uncertain times and protect their most valuable assets.”

“Bitdefender EDR helps us increase our resilience against cyber-attacks by making detection more accurate with increased visibility into what’s happening at the endpoint. Additionally, Bitdefender EDR helps us decide on how to respond-whether we block suspicious files or processes, or isolate an endpoint.” Explained Geraint Treharne, the lead of information security and compliance at Creditsafe-according to AIT News.

Bitdefender’s solution has three key features: (1) a new executive dashboard that displays company information with a user-friendly interface, the ability to generate visual and written document reports, (2) advanced features for protecting endpoints and search in order to provide user access to specific data more efficiently, (3) it also provides advanced mitigation when systems and networks are compromised.

Bitdefender is now available for cloud computing as a stand-alone product. They will also continue to distribute its on-premise version of the software and hardware.

As cloud computing becomes more common at today’s enterprises, it will create an environment regarding computer security that will need staff members that are familiar with how to keep networks and systems safe, as well as deploy security strategies through the cloud  computing infrastructure. There may be a slight learning curve, but once all staff is up-to-date on how to use Bitdefender or any other solution it will drastically increase information and computer security on an on-going basis. When companies are deciding on a cybersecurity solution for their enterprises, there are so many different options available with different deployment models. Initially, executives are going to need to decide if the company will need a public, private or hybrid cloud solution. Bitdefender is a flexible solution that can be deployed through any of the three methods. However, many other security solutions will only allow the company to use one deployment method. Most cybersecurity analysts would recommend medium to large companies to adopt the private deployment, and use risk management framework to assign the roles and responsibilities for all staff, which is the most efficient way of proving computer security for organizations.
