Birdman Jumps In To Lil Wayne Super Bowl Debate

[ad_1]

Birdman has chimed in on the ongoing discussion surrounding Lil Wayne not being chosen as the halftime performer for the 2025 Super Bowl.

Following the likes of Nicki Minaj, Master P and more speaking out after Kendrick Lamar was announced for the show, Weezy’s former Cash Money boss added to the list of people upset that the rap legend won’t be gracing the big stage in his hometown of New Orleans.

Taking to X on Monday (September 9), he seemed to throw a jab at JAY-Z as he wrote, adding a goat emoji at the end, “These n-ggaz Pussi @NICKIMINAJ @Drake @LilTunechi YMCMB. I’m make these n-ggaz respek us on Gladys.”

In a second post, he added: “Hatin shit 4real.”

Nicki Minaj was less coy about her disdain for Hov following the announcement, and threw multiple shots his way as she voiced her support for Lil Wayne in a series of posts on X.

“One n-gga took a knee. The other n-gga took the bag,” she began. “He gon get you ‘n-ggers’ in line every fkng time. Got everything in the world. Still spiteful & evil. Disgusting. Be happy Abeg. Go be fkng happy n!gg@!!!!!!!! In rap business. In women business. When you got the Politicians & the police you good tho. Plus dat ugly laughy taffy alien.

“Tried to tell yall but yall wanted brunch LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOO. IM ON A FKNG ROLL. WAIT. HACKED. HACKED. Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for BIRDMAN, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?!?!!! LIL WAYNE!!!!!!!!!! THE GOAT?!!!!!!!!!!! Nola what’s good?!!!!!!

She continued: “Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Shit sad. House N-GGER TINGZ. but it’s GOOD FI DEM!!!!!!! No loyalty ? Welp. then n-ggaz will keep son’ing you!!!!! #DTLR #GagCityDC LMFAOOOOOOOOOO GOODAZ FI DEL GAL U AH GOODAZ FI DEM.”

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar seemingly took another jab at Weezy’s signee Drake in the promo announcing that he’s set to headline the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show – which is set to take place on February 9 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

“Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date,” Lamar said as part of the formal announcement. “And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Alongside the organization’s statement, which they issued in partnership with Apple and JAY-Z‘s Roc Nation, the former TDE rapper shared a video clip on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram and YouTube.

In the clip, Kendrick is seen running a practice session with an unseen receiver off-screen. After launching a few passes, supported by guidance and praise for the player, he shares the big news and subtly references his beef with Drake earlier this summer.

Birdman Clears Up Alleged Lil Wayne Diss At Essence Festival

“My name’s Kendrick Lamar and I’ll be performing at Super Bowl LIX,” he begins. “Will you be pulling up? I hope so! You know it’s only one opportunity to win a championship; no round twos. I wouldn’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans, February 9, 2025. Wear your best dressed too, even if you’re watching from home.”

The “no round twos” line seems to be a direct call back to a post which Drizzy made via his burner account exactly two weeks prior, amid his onslaught of new releases.

Seemingly indicating that he was gearing up for a second round of their battle, Drizzy shared a clip of former Detroit Pistons star Rasheed Wallace’s famous interview where he guaranteed that the team would triumph over the Indiana Pacers in game two of the 2004 Eastern Conference Finals.
