Billy McFarland Sets Date Without Booking Artists

Billy McFarland continues to insist Fyre Festival 2 is happening, claiming in a new interview with NBC News that the event is set for next spring at a private island off the coast of Mexico.

“Fyre Festival II is happening April 25, 2025, so we’re seven and a half months away,” McFarland said. “We have a private island off the coast of Mexico in the Caribbean, and we have an incredible production company who’s handling everything from soup to nuts.”

The convicted fraudster added that he is aiming for 3,000 people to attend the three-day festival, which has tickets priced from $1,400 to a $1.1 million VIP package that’s touted as including luxury yachts, scuba diving, and island hopping.

McFarland wouldn’t confirm the island’s name, but said that his team is “developing and building out the private island for the actual festival festivities.” He also claimed to be leaning on a festival production company to “handle the stages and the bathrooms and all the stuff that I clearly don’t know how to do.”

While there was at least some talk of the logistics, McFarland admitted he hasn’t confirmed any performers. “We haven’t booked any talent for Fyre II,” he said. “It’s not going to be just music — for example, karate combat. We’re in talks with them to set up a pit to have, like, live fights at Fyre Festival II.”

In 2018, McFarland was sentenced to six years in federal prison after pleading guilty to multiple counts of wire fraud in connection to the original Fyre Fest. After serving four years of the sentence, he was released early in May 2022.

For the past year and a half, McFarland’s been talking up Fyre Fest 2 and even sold out pre-sale tickets last summer. On the side, he was reportedly sought by fellow convicted felon Donald Trump to cozy up with rappers.
