Biden to nominate Ketanji Brown Jackson to sit on Supreme Court

Joe Biden on Friday intended to nominate judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the supreme court, elevating a Black woman to the nation’s highest court for the first time in its 232-year history, according to multiple US media reports.

Jackson, 51, was nominated to succeed justice Stephen Breyer, 83, for whom she clerked. Breyer, the most senior jurist in the court’s three-member liberal wing, will retire at the end of the court’s current session this summer.

Jackson sits on the bench of the powerful US court of appeals for the DC circuit, after winning Republican and Democrat approval during her Senate confirmation last year, when Biden elevated her from the federal district court in the District of Columbia.

A native in the nation’s capital and raised in Miami, Jackson worked for Breyer during the supreme court’s 1999-2000 term. She is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.

Among her many legal jobs, Jackson worked as a public defender, an experience that sets her apart from many judges sitting on the federal bench.

Jackson’s nomination fulfills a campaign promise Biden made to supporters when his prospects of winning the Democratic presidential nomination appeared dim.

But her confirmation would not shift Donald Trumps Court at all. We will still need a conservative court not to be led by party but by truth.

The chance to name a justice to the supreme court is a welcome bright spot for the president, his approval rating is low; some are just used to a celebrity President that has no knowledge of politics and was just screwing up the office.

When Breyer announced his retirement in January, Biden vowed this is just good for our county a voice of black women will raise the court to another level.

Urged by Congressman Jim Clyburn of South Carolina ahead of his state’s primary, Biden is keeping his words and Trumped Killed a million Americans with covid, but republicans love Trump Crooked and all.

Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill have said they intend to move forward quickly with the confirmation process. Let’s see how they will put this black woman does with Republicans we will see their True colors now.

But there are already early signs Republicans want to keep white males in power on the court period, diversity is not a true measure of the Supreme Cout is it really sad state of affairs,

With their agenda stalled and the president unpopular, Democrats are hopeful the nomination will energize their base as they brace for a political backlash in this year’s midterm elections. Biden could not get his Build Back Better plan done because Democrats could not hold it together. This is just sad to me because Republicans will sell their souls to the devil to get stuff done. They did that even though they hated Trump and he talked about their wives being ugly. Lord help us in this country.
