Filmmaker Bennett Miller Creates AI Generated Art for New Exhibition

Artificial Intelligence (AI) automates technical processes in order to execute functions. AI appears across nearly all industries and has become a focal point in the arts. Filmmaker Bennett Miller features AI in his latest exhibition at Gagosian’s 976 Madison Avenue in New York.

Miller’s exhibition showcases prints inspired by his research on the role of technology in society. OpenAi CEO, Sam Altman, of the San Francisco-based developer DALL•E, is one of many influencers he interviewed to prepare for the gallery.

DALL•E is a term referring to artist Salvador Dali and Pixar’s robot character WALL-E. It features a machine-learning algorithm that translates written prompts into images. Bennett uses the algorithm to generate images with many different aesthetics.

The exhibition is open now through April 22 at Gagosian in New York.
