Letitia James, New York Attorney General, has made public statements regarding President Trump’s refusal to accept the results of the 2020 election.
“Regardless of Trump’s inflammatory, misleading, and divisive rhetoric, Americans across the country should be assured that this election was administered fairly and securely by state officials of both political parties. Election workers around the nation are hard at work counting all legal votes, just as they have done in every election before” she stated.
Her remarks are meant to counter the President’s behavior by focusing on the integrity of the America election process.
“To suggest it be done otherwise is a blatant power grab and an attempt to steal the election. Each state will continue to count all legally cast ballots. The will of the people will be heard” she added.
Every major network has projected that Joe Biden is now the President Elect of the United States. The President Elect and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris have both accepted their new roles in government.
Trump is planning to take several lawsuits against states for voter fraud to the Supreme Court in the hopes of delegitimizing the outcome of the election. President Trump has yet to give a concession speech or reach out to the new leadership. Many Republicans do not want to go down the rabbit hole of meritless lawsuits that could take months to request. Many of his advisors would prefer that he would communicate with the new leadership, and allow the Republican led Senate the opportunity to focus on legislation that is possible for them to pass while working with a Democrat as President.
