In the anticipation of Marrakech 2024, 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair announces its return to New York for its 10th edition.

The ninth edition of 1-54 in New York in 2023 was a momentous milestone for the fair and its participants. Located in the heart of West Harlem, the fair brought together 70 leading artists from Africa and its diaspora, showcasing their diverse talents and perspectives. The fair boasted the participation of 26 leading galleries, adding an enriching layer to the multifaceted tapestry of contemporary African art. The event garnered widespread attention, drawing in more than 8,000 enthusiastic visitors and capturing the interest of over 30 museums and non-profit institutions.

The 10th edition of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair in New York, scheduled for May 2-5, 2024, promises to be even more breathtaking. Embarking on a new chapter in its storied journey, the fair is set to return to the iconic city of New York. It will undergo a transformative shift in location, moving to the Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea, situated in the bustling heart of Manhattan. The relocation to this dynamic and central venue symbolizes the fair’s commitment to expanding its footprint within the city, providing an even more immersive experience for attendees and participants alike.
