Android Media Players vs Apple Products

In my previous post, I discussed if Apple’s iPod is now obsolete. The long and short of it is that the answer is yes and no depending on what perspective you take. However, after reviewing some of the android based media players it becomes apparent that they lack the access to the modern apps that are being downloaded right now on smartphones, tablets and computers. For example, with some of the android media players it would be impossible to download popular apps for news, and even for entertainment like Snapchat and Tik Tok.

The good thing about the android-based models is that for consumers who are only looking to play music and video they are a much cheaper and, in some cases, more user-friendly method of using media. The presence of the android vs. iOS debate has created a vacuum in which some consumers really do not know which technology would be better fitting for them or what type of budget they should apply for their new purchase.

In my opinion, I think these consumers should look to buy a device for a maximum of $150. I believe that is a good price either for android or the 7th generation iPod that has not gotten an update in 2020. If you spend more than that then you get into the territory of should I just upgrade my smartphone to have enough storage space for all of my files, or maybe go for a tablet that can play all of my media and connect to the internet and app stores. It really is a tough decision because the most efficient purchase is to get the 7th generation iPod, but Apple has not released any new information regarding updating that product, which would understandably prevent some consumers from making the purchase because no wants to buy something that is essentially obsolete.

I would recommend the android players for people who have a massive amount of music and videos that they are looking to store and play. However, if the consumer wants to download the latest apps in addition to storing and playing media then iPod 7th generation at a price point around $150 would be a good purchase.
