All The Love In Oklahoma For The Voice Contestant Jake Tankersley – Country Music News Blog

There’s something special about our site being based in Oklahoma instead of Nashville or New York, or LA, and that is when we see one of our hometown talents on the big screen, it’s a special occasion. That’s the way it was last night when none other than my mother-in-law’s music minister, Jake Tankersley, from her church showed up on The Voice!

Jake Tankersley (The Voice Season 26)

Jake came out and owned the stage with a rendition of fellow Oklahoman Zach Bryan’s “Something In The Orange” and immediately grabbed all four judge’s attention. With all four chairs turned, but Reba blocked as a mentor, Jake was faced with the hard decision of who to choose as a mentor. He eventually selected Snoop Dogg, which we think was a great choice. It’s very clear that Jake doesn’t need any guidance in performing country music, but Snoop can help him tremendously with the business aspects that go into taking talent from a TV show into the homes and hearts of the nation.

Jake, we wish you the best of luck this season, and if you ever want to share your experience with a local perspective, just hit us up! We’re just on the other side of Grand Lake!

You can follow Jake on TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram.
