Alanis Morissette’s Life is Set for ABC Comedy

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Alanis Morissette’s life is going to be the plot for an upcoming ABC comedy.

The show will be called Relatable and feature a single-camera comedy inspired by the family life of the singer-songwriter.

It is important to note that the episodes are set to loosely parallel Alanis’ life experience as a famous musician, and more narrowly as a mother of three. However, the characters will be fictional and non-biographical.

Alanis is creating original music for each episode. The scripts are being written by Elizabeth Beckwith (of ABC’s The Goldbergs) and Christopher Moynihan (Man Up).

Last year, Alanis celebrated the 25th anniversary of the release of Jagged Little Pill. She is going to tour in 2021 and 2022 to celebrate the milestone with concerts that feature songs from the 1995 album. She released her 10th studio album last year, and has been the inspiration for a Broadway musical that received 15 Tony award nominations.
