Adele Tops Billboard Hot 100 for Third Week

According to Billboard, Adele’s “Easy on Me” leads the Hot 100 chart for a third consecutive week. The singer is no stranger to topping the charts in both the United States and Europe. Many of her previous singles have had similar success, which is one of many reasons why Adele’s music is popular for multiple demographics.

Music streaming and radio airplay are two metrics Billboard uses to create the Hot 100 list. The chart indicates how much of an audience the music has in relation to the work created by other musicians. It clearly shows who is connecting with the broadest audience; those who consistently rank among the top are typically building their audience with each passing week and may increase metrics in other areas like album sales, other Billboard charts, etc.

According to MRC Data, “Easy on Me” released on Oct. 14, generated 70 million radio airplay , 25.8 million U.S. streams, and 15,800 downloads from Oct. 29-Nov. 4.
