A newly divorced singer-actress is calling out her ex-husband’s mother for meddling.
On June 13, Malaysian actress Bella Astillah and Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz divorced for the second time following a string of scandals. The couple previously divorced in 2019 due to Aziz’s alleged infidelity after he was spotted with several women. Astillah and Aziz reconciled and remained married for five more years.
The ex-couple has continued to make headlines throughout the summer as they embark on new chapters of their lives separately. In a recent Instagram post, Astillah revealed that she is now limiting her children’s interactions with Aliff Aziz’s family due the behavior of her ex-mother-in-law, Siti Hafiza.
She said that during a video call, her ex-mother-in-law spoke to Ayden (Astillah’s seven-year-old son) in a way that can “disturb a child’s mind.”
‘Look at Ayden’s face, poor thing, he’s worried about his daddy, he looks stressed. Ayden, don’t worry about daddy, he’s okay. You just need to pray for daddy.’
It’s words like these that disturb a child’s mind, when in reality, he doesn’t even have such thoughts… They are happy because they are used to being with me. I’ve been taking care of them since they were babies. It’s not easy for everything to go back to normal.

Astillah went on to say that Aziz’s mother “has destroyed everything.” She explained that by restricting her children’s interactions with Aziz’s family, she is acting in their best interest.
Don’t say I’m using my children as an excuse. I’m protecting their peace and mental health so they can grow up well.

Astillah also stated that she has not received an apology from her ex-husband’s parents. She claims that they never offered to babysit her children while she was away on business trips and that they ridiculed her on social media during the scandals.
As for Aziz, Astillah intends to allow him to be a part of their children’s lives.
The children will still know their father. I never said I wanted to separate them (forever). It’s only for the time being.
