In the heart of Louisville, Kentucky’s Historic Old Louisville Historic Preservation District, The Chateau Gallery, a contemporary art gallery is one of the first Gilded Age mansions constructed on Third Street’s Millionaire’s Row. The unique Chateaesque Victorian architecture proves gallery’s name and organizes Abandoned Time and Place competition. It is an open call for photography. It explores the theme of vacant, uninhabitable, abandoned spaces. They are looking for the images of empty spaces, the ephemeral nature of each environment. The spaces that are forgotten, condemned, demolished, lost to time are the theme of this competition. What is the meaning of shelter, the vacant space during these unprecedented times?
The competition is open to international photographers age 18 years or older. The Chateau Gallery collects a 35% commission on sold artwork. Accepted artists grant The Chateau Gallery permission to use their work on our gallery’s website. Abandoned Time and Place is a physical exhibition, held under the public health mandates and governing laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. There is an entry fee of $25 to support the exhibition and the deadline is 1st of August 2021.
