30 Best YA Sword and Sorcery Books • Book Lists

[ad_1]

Massive, savage soldiers slaying an entire field of foes with their swords. A helpless, captive humanity has to be freed from the evil wizards they must confront. Gorgeous princesses that require protection from the malevolent wizards stated earlier. Roguish robbers whose greed prevents them from staying out of trouble.

Although some readers may find these cliches old-fashioned, there’s a reason they’re still relevant today.

Never let it be argued, nevertheless, that the sub-genre of sword and sorcery cannot develop. Though the cliches may persist, writers haven’t stopped contributing their own perspectives. Modern sword and sorcery fantasy novels have something for everyone, regardless of whether they stay close to the tried and true or venture into some deviation. The reader only needs to be adventurous and tolerant of occasional violence.

Here are 30 sword and sorcery books to pique your interest, ranging from the classics that invented the genre to contemporary works for today’s readers.
